Arachne?

Short Answer….Arachne is the Greek word for spider.

Long Answer…..

In Greek mythology Arachne lived in Lydia and was the daughter of a wool dyer. She was famous for her weaving abilities. She challanged Athena to a weaving contest. Athena could find no flaws in Arachne’s tapestry, but was angered by the scene’s featured in it. Arachne chose to weave 21 episodes of infidelity by the Gods. Athena turned Arachne into a spider.
